Peas

Spring is my favorite time of year. No, actually Summer is my favorite time of year, but Spring is my favorite because of the anticipation of summer. Actually May and June are my favorite months. I love logical statements. In any case, today I planted peas. I love planting peas because it means Spring, the promise of growth and fun in the garden. It means (possibly) harvesting a crop that is more delicious than anything available in the store. Today I planted Agway's Dwarf White Sugar in a double row about ten feet long. Hopefully we can harvest some pods for a tasty chinese comestible sometime around Memorial Day.

Spring

We had our first taste of spring last week. On Friday, March 10, we saw a flock of geese migrating north. I thought to myself, "can the robins be far behind?" Sure enough, on Saturday I saw a robin hopping around in the back yard. The time of the singing of birds is come. (Song 2:12.)
